ALFA WOOD GROUP at the 4th Information Event of the HABITABLE Project in Greece

On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, ALFA WOOD GROUP participated in the 4th Information Event of the European Project HABITABLE, organized by CluBE – Bioeconomy and Environment Cluster of Western Macedonia. The event focused on exploring the needs of the sector habitat in Greece and in strengthening green and digital skills in vocational education and training.
ALFA WOOD GROUP was represented by Mr. Ioannis Delfos, Group Head of Purchasing, who participated in the panel of speakers on the topic:
«"Bridging the Gap between the Labor Market & Learning Pathways in the Habitat Sector in Greece"».
In his speech, Mr. Delfos presented:
the role of ALFA WOOD GROUP as one of the leading Greek wood industries,
the Group's strategic educational initiatives,
collaborations with Universities and European projects,
the continuous investment in the development of technical skills and in promoting the green and digital transition in the wood industry.
His presentation highlighted the real needs of the market and the importance of close industry-education linkages to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector.
The panel hosted important representatives from academia and the professional world, who offered a comprehensive picture of the challenges and opportunities of the sector:
Dr. Konstantinos Ninikas, Researcher and faculty member of the University of Thessaly – presented the VET landscape in Greece and the education-labor market connection in the wood and design sector.
Mr. George Petrou, Executive Director of DIMITRA – Educational & Consulting S.A. – presented the Educational Exalco Institute, an initiative that connects education and the aluminum industry.
Dr. Angeliki Tsameti, Researcher – Doctor of Organizational Behavior – highlighted the role of creative industries and innovative methodologies in the development of digital and green skills.
Mr. Alexandros Chliapas, Export & Sales Manager of Chliapas AEBE – presented the challenges of the wood market in Western Macedonia and the need to strengthen education in wood technologies.
The discussion was moderated by Dr. Stefanos Dodouras, Head of Sustainable & Viable Transition at CluBE.
The event concluded with the signing Memorandum of Cooperation among the Greek partners of the HABITABLE project:

The signing marked the establishment of Greek Alliance of the HABITABLE Project, with the aim of coordinating actions and developing a strategy for the development of skills in the habitat sector.
