Visit of the University of Thessaly to its facilities Alpha Wood Group
The students of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences & Design, had the opportunity to visit the facilities of Alfa Wood Group and watch closely the production process, in one of the largest wood processing industries in Greece.
The students and their professors were given a tour of the factory premises, observing all safety measures. They closely observed the production lines of doors, counters and melamine, saw the storage areas of raw materials and the design department of new products.
They also had the opportunity to visit the power plant and learn about the circular economy and the recycling of residual biomass and wood, in order to use it for the production of green energy (heat and electricity).
Valuable information on the design, processing and application of raw materials complemented their scientific knowledge and helped them have a more complete picture of the profession they chose to follow.
The students were accompanied by the president of the Department of Forestry, Sciences and Planning, Mr. Papadopoulos Ioannis, the professor Mr. Aspridis Georgios and the PhD candidate Ms. Ekaterini Liakopoulou.
